The items in this Settings view affect the initial configuration of new tracks that are created either implicitly by recording a waypoint that creates a new active track, or explicitly by choosing ‘Edit’ -> ‘New…’ in a Directory’s list of Tracks.

The items that can be set as defaults for new tracks are:

• Show/Hide – whether the track should be displayed on the map view
• Colour – the colour to use for track lines and waypoint dots when displayed on the map view
• Type – either ‘Track’ (displays lines; calculates speeds and distances) or ‘Gazetteer’ (no lines, no speed, no distances)
• All Waypoints – display all waypoints on the map view as either dots or pins (or not at all)
• Titled Waypoints – display waypoints with titles as either labels or pins (or not at all)
