Stopping Advertisers is a large factor in having a good minecraft server, if you any people on your minecraft server then you\u2019re sure to have someone trying to advertise another server… Maybe is some random noob jumping on the server just for advertising or what you thought was a loyal member of your server (as was my case this last week).

\nHow do you stop Advertising? First what do I mean by advertising? Advertising on a Minecraft server is when one person through chat tells another person about another server (normally not having anything to do with yours), and why shouldn\u2019t it be allowed? Once you build a nice loyal fanbase of trusted people, advertisers can take that all away… what are some methods they use, and how do I Stop them?<\/p>\n
Method one is just spam the global chat with a message like this one \u201cJOIN PLAY.DLKJSDF.COM FIRST PERSON GETS OP!\u201d they try and give anything they can for a moment of fame (using caps is common)… another example would be \u201cJoin 192 168 1 1 Factions server DROP PARTY!\u201d by removing the dots they can bypass many plugins to stop advertising (Also using drop parties is common)…<\/p>\n
To stop global chat spam I used Anti Advertising, This worked great or so I thought, this didnt stop the commands like this \u201c\/msg antares330 JOIN NOW\u201d a plugin I’m looking into is Chat Control which I will be adding to my server soon… but the main way to stop all types of advertising is manually with the \/serverspy command you can see any messages between users…. I also use a command spy to combat the teleport spammers… so keep them both active then just keep yourself active… Also chat control deals with spammers! Which is a create add on!<\/p>\n
If you cant be on your server 24 hours a day (like me) Get some good staff you trust give them the jail command and at least serverspy and maybe mute, this alone will help a lot, as long as its good staff that your trusting… and above all please don’t go spam other servers with or without IP address… it ruins the fun for all of us!<\/p>\n
